I don't know of any limitation to a Cygwin application using a Windows DLL so I do not see an issue with using your DLL with an application that is using There's nothing in usr/local/bin,  usr/local/include, usr/local/lib, they're empty directories.  This is odd. In the end I tried fixing it by linking my system path variable to the w32api in cygwin...

You can also look for the LDFLAGS in your makefile and add it with "-L/lib/w32api" (without quotes). is it a path related issue? But I cross checked with my installed files and folders and found that "libuser32.a" exists. Go to: C:\cygwin\usr\lib\w32api and copy all the files into C:\cygwin\usr\lib and C:\cygwin\lib That should fix the -luser32 errors.

But I am able to build exe and test it properly. I have since re-installed and subsequently got an "undefined reference to _WinMain@16' error". If you are building with mingw features you either should use -mno-cygwin (pre-gcc4) or a mingw cross compiler (which is available in the cygwin installer 'setup.exe'). –thoni56 Aug 24 '12 at http://homeshareware.com/cannot-find/gcc-collect2-cannot-find-ld-39.html I have since re-installed and subsequently got an > "undefined reference to _WinMain@16' error".

The required libs are included under mingw but I am using cygwin in eclipse .. Due a quick search for user32.lib and make sure that the linker can find it. The -share option when used in a windows command prompt shell in my machine ERASES the existing *.exe files of the same name!!! Is this can help?

I placed -mno-cygwin in my makefile.mk and DLL is loading into simulator without giving any trouble to me.
